It’s been a minute since I’ve written anything for SMRI. It’s good to be back!

A Pocket of Wind Resistance – December 1, 2017

Scottish singer-songwriter Karina Polwart set out to pull our heart strings again with stories of loss and the brutal reality of nature. A Pocket of Wind Resistance is beautifully strange and relaxing. You have to listen to understand. Watch a short clip as to how she made this work of art here!

Miguel

War & Leisure – December 1, 2017

Miguel is just a smooth character. His music chill and always easy to listen to. Come Through and Chill featuring J. Cole follows suit. Don’t wait at all. Just go listen to it ASAP.

U2

Songs of Experience – December 1, 2017

I’d rather hear to a bucket of double A batteries be poured into a dumpster fire, and listen to the batteries scream, squeal, and explode than to ever listen to U2. However, I thought I should be “diverse” and share the knowledge that they have a new album coming out, even though their cult-like following has probably known about this release for months.

Jim James

Tribute To 2 – December 8, 2017

‘The World is Falling Down’ is a solid single from American vocalist and guitarist Jim James. He’s widely known for his work in My Morning Jacket, and I love their work, but his solo stuff is so odd and different that I’m really attracted to it. I suggest you buy or stream this album on the eighth.

Asking Alexandria

Asking Alexandria – December 15, 2017

I honestly don’t know where else rock/metal can go. The single ‘Where Did It Go?’ sounds like 2009 all over again to me, but it’s not a bad song. What can you expect though? I won’t bash it until I hear the whole thing.
